About Sofia

I teach managers and executives how to make sound decisions about AI without needing to become engineers. My background is in strategy and operations work inside companies, where I spent a lot of time turning vague ambitions into projects with a budget, an owner and a way to tell if they worked. I teach with real decisions: a use case on the table, a cost estimate, a pilot plan. I ask a lot of questions, I push back on numbers nobody can explain, and I am comfortable saying that the best AI project this quarter might be none at all.

Knows about

  • AI strategy
  • use case selection
  • build versus buy
  • cost and return estimates
  • pilot design
  • board oversight
  • executive education
  • productivity measurement
  • AI roadmaps

Good structure and very even handed. I would have liked a worked example closer to manufacturing, but the memo template is now in our shared drive.

Short, direct and free of buzzwords. The three sentence stance exercise was what I needed before my leadership offsite.

The cost of ownership table changed our conversation. We had compared a licence to API usage only and forgot the engineer's time completely.

Solid method, though slow going for someone who already does business cases daily. The part on unpriced benefits was the most useful bit for me.

The sensitivity check showed that one assumption, the share of tickets AI can help with, drove everything. Now that is the thing our pilot measures.

Finally someone who explains staggered rollouts without a statistics lecture. Our next rollout is designed this way and the analytics team is on board.
