A taste of a lesson

One question and the answer, as this tutor gives it.

Editing AI Clips into a Finished Piece AI tutor following Ruth Okafor's plan
Student:

I have six AI clips from two different tools and they look like two different films. How do I make them match?

Tutor:

Work in two passes. First, correct each clip to a neutral baseline: fix exposure, set white balance so whites look white, and match contrast. Pick one hero clip and match the others to it using scopes if your editor has them. Second, apply one shared look across everything, and add the same amount of film grain to all clips, which hides texture differences between tools. Sound helps too: one continuous music or ambience bed glues shots together. Which of your six clips best represents the look you want?

Written by the teacher as an example. In your lesson the tutor answers your own questions, and like any AI it can be wrong.

What you will be able to do

  • Organise and conform AI clips with mixed frame rates and sizes
  • Cut for pacing and use edits to hide artefacts
  • Match colour across clips from different tools
  • Build a sound mix and export correctly for each platform

About this tutor

For creators who generate good clips but struggle to turn them into a finished video. Editing is where AI footage becomes a film. This tutor covers the full post production path in tool neutral terms: organising clips, assembling to a structure, pacing and cutting on action, hiding artefacts with cut points, matching colour and frame rates across clips from different tools, building a sound bed with music, effects and voice, adding titles and captions, and exporting for each platform. You will edit a short piece from your own clips with feedback at each stage.

Great on colour matching and grain. The sound lesson made the biggest difference to how professional it felt.

  • Shreya N.Sample

Clear and editor neutral, which worked for my free editor. Wanted more on frame rate conversion problems.

  • Renata L.Sample

Trimming the first and last half second of every AI clip removed most of the weirdness. Such a simple fix.

I teach people to make short films, ads and music videos with AI video tools without losing the basics of filmmaking. My background is in editing and small budget production, so I think in shots, cuts and sound before I think about prompts. Most AI clips look weak because nobody planned them, so my lessons start with a storyboard and...
