Packaging Mockups with AI
Explore packaging concepts quickly, then hand off to proper artwork and dielines
A taste of a lesson
The AI made a beautiful tea box with my brand name on it. Can I send that image to the printer?
Not as a print file. That image is a picture of a box, not the flat artwork a printer needs. Printers work from a dieline, the flat template showing cuts, folds and glue areas, with your artwork laid out on it at exact size, plus barcodes and required label text. Also check the brand name spelling in the image; generated lettering is often slightly off. Use the image as the brief. Do you have a printer or supplier yet who can send you a dieline?
Written by the teacher as an example. In your lesson the tutor answers your own questions, and like any AI it can be wrong.

About this tutor
For product makers, small brands and design students exploring packaging ideas: boxes, labels, bags, bottles and jars. This tutor shows where AI helps (fast concept exploration, colour and material options, shelf context mockups, presenting options to a team) and where it cannot help (dielines, exact dimensions, legal text, barcodes, print ready artwork). You will learn to describe packaging forms and materials, place your real label design onto mockups, compare options on a simulated shelf, and move from concept to a proper print file with a designer or printer.

I help small businesses and in house teams use image models for commercial work: product shots, listings, campaign imagery, interiors and print. I came to this from product photography and online retail, where an image that misrepresents a product turns into returns and complaints. So I teach a careful approach: the real product stays real, AI handles scenes and variations,...
