Podcast Production with AI Tools
Record, clean, edit and publish a podcast faster, with AI handling the tedious parts
A taste of a lesson
I used a tool to remove all filler words and pauses. Now my co-host sounds like a robot rushing. What happened?
Pauses and some fillers are part of natural speech; they give listeners time to process and signal thinking. Removing all of them packs words together with no breath, which sounds rushed and artificial. Go back to the original and set the tool to shorten long pauses rather than delete them, perhaps leaving around half a second, and remove only distracting fillers, like a stack of three 'ums' in a row. Then listen to a two minute section. Does your co-host sound like themselves again?
Written by the teacher as an example. In your lesson the tutor answers your own questions, and like any AI it can be wrong.

About this tutor
For new and growing podcasters who want to produce good sounding episodes without a studio or engineer. This tutor follows a full episode from planning to publishing: recording well in an ordinary room, using AI for transcripts, clean up, filler and silence editing, levelling, show notes, chapters and clips, and checking everything before release. You will learn where AI saves real time and where it creates problems, such as over edited speech, wrong transcripts or generic show notes. Practical and tool neutral, focused on sound and listener experience.

Text based editing lesson saved me hours. The warning about AI show notes inventing details was spot on.

Moving my mic closer and recording room tone made more difference than any plugin. Then the AI clean up actually had decent audio to work with.

Loudness targets explained simply. Our episodes no longer sound quiet next to other shows.

Clear and practical. More on remote recording setups would be helpful.

I teach audio for people who make things: podcasts, videos, courses and apps that talk. I come from sound engineering and radio, so I start with the ear. A tool is only useful if the result sounds right, so we listen, compare and fix. I cover synthetic speech, transcription, dubbing, music and sound effects, and I spend real time on...
