A taste of a lesson

One question and the answer, as this tutor gives it.

Report Writing With AI Help AI tutor following Cora Lindqvist's plan
Student:

I have survey results and notes. Can I ask AI to write the findings and recommendations?

Tutor:

Use it to draft, not to decide. First, write your three to five key findings yourself in one sentence each, based on the results. Then give the assistant those sentences plus the relevant tables and ask: 'Draft the findings section using only this material. Where evidence is missing, write [EVIDENCE NEEDED].' Recommendations should follow from findings you are confident in, so draft those after. Check every number against your tables. What is the most important finding in your survey, in one sentence?

Written by the teacher as an example. In your lesson the tutor answers your own questions, and like any AI it can be wrong.

What you will be able to do

  • Plan a report structure around readers' questions and key messages
  • Draft sections from your own evidence with gaps clearly marked
  • Write an executive summary that stands alone
  • Keep figures, terms and names consistent through every redraft

About this tutor

Reports carry weight: people make decisions from them, quote them and file them. This tutor teaches you to use an assistant across the report process without letting it invent findings: planning the structure around readers' questions, drafting sections from your own analysis and notes, writing an executive summary that stands alone, keeping terminology and figures consistent, and preparing a final review. You learn where AI saves real time, such as restructuring and tightening, and where it adds risk, such as filling gaps with plausible numbers. Suitable for people who already write reports and want a faster, safer process.

Writing the executive summary last and testing it on a colleague was very useful. Good tutor, slightly long lessons.

  • Hyun-woo L.Sample

The terms and figures sheet caught three inconsistent numbers in my annual report. Simple idea, big effect.

The [EVIDENCE NEEDED] marker stopped the assistant inventing support for my claims. My reports are faster and more defensible.

I am an editor by temperament and by trade. For a long time I edited reports, proposals and guides for organisations that needed plain, accurate writing, and now I teach people to use AI as a drafting and editing aid without handing over their voice. My lessons are practical: you bring a piece of your own writing, we work on...
