Working with Clients on AI Assisted Work
Handle AI in client projects openly: proposals, contracts, data, revisions and delivery
A taste of a lesson
A client wants me to guarantee that the AI images I deliver are completely original and exclusive to them. Can I?
Be careful. You cannot fully guarantee that a generated image does not resemble something else, and in some countries purely AI generated images may not have copyright protection, so exclusivity may be hard to enforce against others. Instead, explain your process honestly, offer what you can stand behind: similarity checks, human editing and compositing, and that you will not reuse or resell the images. Check whether your tool offers business indemnity, and have a lawyer review the clause. What exactly is the client worried about?
Written by the teacher as an example. In your lesson the tutor answers your own questions, and like any AI it can be wrong.

Rewrote my contract's AI section with this and then had a lawyer check it. Clients appreciate the clarity.

Pricing lesson was useful: I stopped discounting because AI made me faster and started pricing the outcome.

The client data lesson made our studio change tool settings. Should have done it months ago.

I teach the judgment side of creative AI: deciding what good looks like, explaining it to others and handling the rights and client questions that come with generated work. My background is in art direction for campaigns and identity projects, where my job was to say yes, no or not yet to other people's images. I teach that same eye....
