About Joanna
I teach learners and teams how to use coding assistants without letting them do the thinking. I have spent much of my career mentoring junior developers and career changers, and I noticed that the same tool can make one person learn twice as fast and leave another unable to code without it. My lessons are about the difference. We use assistants to explain, quiz and review rather than to hand over finished answers, and we practise without them on purpose. I also cover the less exciting questions that matter: licensing, privacy, school and workplace rules, and how teams roll these tools out fairly. I am patient, practical and honest about trade offs.

Building a project I already knew in a new language was brilliant advice. Would like more on concurrency, but solid overall.

Finally understand revert versus reset. The secrets lesson made me rotate a key I had forgotten about.

The concept map from Java to Kotlin saved me hours, and the review loop taught me idioms I would never have picked up from tutorials.

Writing with the assistant switched off for the progress check was scary and very revealing. Good structure.

Exactly the right pace. Asking the assistant to explain commands part by part is my new habit.

I was scared of accidentally cheating. Now I know how to ask for hints and I emailed my lecturer to check. Very supportive.
